A Stafford man has been locked up for a year after police stumbled on a cache of illegal drugs during a visit to his home.
Drug Hoard Includes Cocaine, Magic Mushrooms, and Monkey Dust
Malcolm David Arnold, 52, from Highfields, was sentenced at North Staffordshire Justice Centre on Thursday 16 April. He pleaded guilty to multiple drug offences, including possession of Class A drugs (cocaine and magic mushrooms), Class B monkey dust (both possession and supply), and Class C drugs tramadol and pregabalin.
Police Find Drugs Hidden in Plain Sight
Stafford borough local policing team uncovered the haul during a visit on Barnes Road earlier this month, originally connected to an unrelated issue. Officers found cocaine sitting on Arnold’s bedside table. A thorough search revealed over 120 tablets, drug paraphernalia, and two mobile phones packed with drug-related messages.
Jail Comes Despite Suspended Sentence for Previous Drug Crimes
Arnold, already serving a suspended sentence for similar offences from last month, was dealt a tough blow. Along with his one-year jail term, the court ordered all drugs seized to be destroyed and fined him a £154 surcharge.
