A man caught red-handed setting fire to a scrap yard in Port Clarence is now behind bars.
Dramatic Blaze Destroys Vehicles and Storage
Dwayne Davis, 29, from Laurel Road, was part of a gang that deliberately set alight a scrap yard on Hope Street. The fire damaged four vans, a forklift truck, a bus, and a storage unit. After the initial blaze, Davis drove the gang to Raleigh Road, where he watched as a caravan was torched.
Caught on Camera, Sentenced to Over 10 Years
Police identified Davis from CCTV footage that showed his distinctive clothing and trainers. He denied the charges but was convicted at trial. On Monday, 20 April, Teesside Crown Court sentenced Davis to 10 years and five months for two counts of arson.
