Voyeur caught after hidden camera found in bedroom

A 33-year-old man has been locked up after police uncovered his sick hobby of spying on people via secret cameras planted in their homes and workplaces. Jean-Pierre Francis was first exposed when a hidden camera was discovered in a woman’s bedroom in Northamptonshire back in May 2024.

Horrific footage from disguised devices

Police launched a thorough probe and seized numerous spying gadgets from Francis. The tech included cameras hidden in everyday objects like pens, USB sticks, plugs, and even a shower gel bottle. Analysis revealed hundreds of videos and images taken over a decade—from 2015 to 2025.

Six victims and harsh sentencing

  • At least six women aged between their 20s and 60s were targeted.
  • Francis pleaded guilty to six counts of voyeurism at Northampton Crown Court on March 13.
  • Last week, he was sentenced to three years and six months behind bars.

Lifetime restrictions and protection orders

The court also issued a destruction order on all his spying devices. Francis was slapped with a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order banning him from owning phones with cameras or any recording gear. To top it off, he’s now on the Sex Offenders’ Register for life. This case sends a chilling reminder to stay vigilant and report suspicious devices immediately.
