Johnny Depp Caught Embracing Badger in Tunbridge Wells
Johnny Depp has swapped Hollywood for wildlife! The actor was spotted getting up close and personal with a badger during a visit to Folly Wildlife Rescue in Tunbridge Wells.
Making Friends with Freddie the Badger
Depp toured the rescue centre’s care and veterinary units, impressing staff with his genuine interest. The centre shared on 1: “Johnny was really nice and, in his own words, ‘blown away’ by what he witnessed.”
He even got the rare chance to hold Freddie—a hand-reared orphan badger cub named as a cheeky nod to Freddie Mercury—which left Depp visibly wowed.
Rock Royalty and Wildlife Unite
The star’s visit wasn’t a solo act. Musician Jeff Beck, sponsor of the rescue centre and Depp’s UK tour mate, greeted him at the centre. It turns out Mrs Beck, Sandra, was behind the wildlife pitstop.
Beck, a 60s rock legend who once jammed with Jimmy Page in The Yardbirds, found a new collaborator in Depp. The actor-guitarist previously teamed up with Beck on the 2020 single “Isolation” and has already rocked gigs from Sheffield to London’s Royal Albert Hall.
Touring the UK with Jeff Beck
Now 58, Depp will join Beck on the rest of his UK tour, hitting Gateshead, Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham, and York. This comes hot on the heels of Depp’s high-profile win in his defamation case against ex-wife Amber Heard.
From the courtroom to the stage — and even nursing orphaned badgers — Johnny Depp is proving there’s more to the star than just acting.
