Shocking Chant About Murdered Newlywed Sparks Outrage
In 2011, a 27-year-old bride was tragically found dead during her honeymoon in Mauritius. Her killer was never caught. Now, a vile video has emerged showing people singing a disgusting chant about her death.
Perpetrators Show “Deep Shame and Regret”
According to Sky News, John Bell and Andrew McDade have publicly apologised for their involvement in the horrid broadcast. They called the chant “offensive, vile, and completely abhorrent.”
“This Facebook live video was never intended to broadcast offensive chants,” they said. “But these chants should never have been sung in public or private, whether streamed or not.”
“We sincerely apologise to the Harte and McAreavey families, and wider society, for our actions. Though alcohol played a part, nothing excuses or mitigates our behaviour. Our apologies are unequivocal, and we accept full responsibility.”
Widespread Condemnation Across Northern Ireland
The Orange Order labelled the recording “utterly abhorrent,” condemning it “without reservation.”
Police confirmed they are investigating the video to determine if a crime was committed. Northern Ireland’s political parties united in disgust, with Brandon Lewis MP branding the video “reprehensible.” He urged anyone with information to come forward.
This repugnant tribute to a murdered bride has sparked outrage across the UK, highlighting ongoing tensions and the need for accountability.
