Huge Blaze Engulfs Belvedere Bungalow After Explosion
Four fire crews from Bexley, Plumstead and nearby London Fire Brigade stations raced to a raging bungalow fire on Lower Road, Belvedere, in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Explosion Sparks Fire; Roof Now Fully In Flames
Firefighters were scrambled at 1am following reports of a loud explosion tearing through the property, which is believed to be unoccupied. The blaze quickly intensified, engulfing the entire roof.
Crews battled the fierce fire using multiple hose reels and high-pressure jets, working relentlessly to control the situation.
Neighbours Evacuated as Fire Threatens Surrounding Homes
Efforts are underway to stop the flames spreading to the neighbouring bungalow. Several nearby residents have been evacuated as a precaution.
Met Police officers have shut down surrounding roads to aid firefighting operations. Paramedics from London Ambulance’s HART team were on site to assess those evacuated.
The cause of the explosion and fire remains under investigation, with emergency services continuing their battle to bring the blaze under control.
