Two Vehicles Were Stopped And Four People Were Arrested Following Effective Teamwork Between Kent Police And The National Police Air Service (npas)

Patrols were notified around 8 p.m. on Monday, January 23, 2023, that a suspected stolen car had been linked to a reported shoplifting at a petrol station in Swanley.

Officers from the Swanley Local Policing Team tracked down the vehicle and pursued it to Guilden Hall Road, where they arrested two people.

Joe Rossiter, 39, of Hart Dyke Crescent, Swanley, has since pleaded guilty to dangerous driving, failing to stop, driving without insurance or a licence, failing to supply a blood test, and two counts of theft before Medway magistrates. He was granted bail by the court and will be sentenced at Maidstone Crown Court on a later date.

A woman arrested at the scene was also released without charge.

Officers were alerted shortly after the incident to another car being driven in the area with false plates.

The patrols were able to locate the vehicle and pursue it to an address in Dartford once more with the assistance of the NPAS helicopter.

Billy Jeeves, 33, of Mayfly Close, Orpington, was later charged with dangerous driving, fuel theft, failing to stop, and driving without insurance or a licence. Medway magistrates granted him bail, and he will next appear in Maidstone Crown Court on Wednesday, February 22.

Rebecca Scott, 32, of Austin Road, Orpington, was charged with allowing herself to be transported in a vehicle taken without the consent of the owner. She was granted police bail and is scheduled to appear before Sevenoaks magistrates on Thursday, February 23.
