Teen Dies After Stabbing Near Crawley Station
Detectives are hunting for answers after an 18-year-old was fatally stabbed in Crawley this afternoon (20 February).
Shock Attack on Malthouse Road
Police were called to Malthouse Road, near Crawley railway station, at 3.21pm following reports of a stabbing.
The young man was found with critical injuries. Despite CPR efforts by passersby and paramedics, he was pronounced dead at the scene. His family has been informed and is receiving support.
Three Arrested in Murder Probe
After a major police search aided by the National Police Air Service helicopter, a 17-year-old boy from Worthing and an 18-year-old man from Horsham were arrested on suspicion of murder.
An 18-year-old woman from Crawley was also arrested for assisting an offender.
Police Appeal for Information
Detective Chief Inspector Debbie White said: “This is a fast-moving investigation and we are asking anyone with any information about the incident to please come forward.
“We are treating this as an isolated incident with no threat to the wider community. However, the public can expect to see an increased police presence in the area this evening as our enquiries continue.
“In the meantime, we would urge the public to refrain from speculating about the circumstances.
“Our thoughts remain with the victim’s family at this difficult time. We are determined to find those responsible for this tragic crime and bring them to justice.”
