Dorset Police officers conducting enquiries on behalf of HM Coroner for Dorset are appealing to the public for information after the recovery of an unidentified body in Goathorn woods, Studland, on Saturday, July 1, 2023.
While there are currently no indications of suspicious circumstances surrounding the death, authorities have yet to establish the identity of the deceased individual.
Police Constable Stuart Wilson, from the Wareham Neighbourhood Policing Team, expressed the urgency of determining the man’s identity and notifying his family: “We have been diligently conducting enquiries on behalf of the coroner, including DNA checks. However, thus far, we have been unable to establish the man’s identity.”
A tent was discovered near the location where the body was found, containing a diary with images inside. In an effort to gather more information, the police are now releasing these images to the public, hoping that someone may recognise the individuals and help identify the man.
“If you have any information that may assist our efforts, please come forward and contact us,” PC Wilson urged.
