Four football supporters have been sentenced following separate incidents at matches involving Portsmouth and Southampton, police have revealed.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary’s dedicated football unit issued an update on the recent court cases, with three of the supporters being Portsmouth fans and one a Southampton supporter.
Farren Jervis, 23, of Dormington Road, Portsmouth, was sentenced on Monday, September 14, after throwing a bottle at Oxford United players during a match last season.
He was fined £350 and handed a three-year Football Banning Order.
Mark Vincent, 60, of Waverley Road, Southsea, was sentenced on September 10 over threatening behaviour during Portsmouth’s match against Leicester City at Fratton Park in April.
Vincent pleaded guilty to making a “cut throat” gesture towards opposition supporters. He was fined £185 and given a three-year Football Banning Order.
Another Portsmouth supporter, Nial Carr, 24, of Deverell Place, Waterlooville, was sentenced on August 20 after throwing a bottle towards Southampton supporters during a match at Fratton Park in January.
He was ordered to pay fines totalling £141.
Southampton supporter Hayden Bussell was sentenced on August 11 for throwing a flare ahead of a match against Middlesbrough on May 12.
He was ordered to pay £925 in fines and costs and was also handed a three-year Football Banning Order.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary said the prosecutions were among recent cases dealt with by its dedicated football policing unit.
