Hit-and-Run Horror: Two Women Seriously Injured on Dock Road

Two women were out for a run on Dock Road just after 8.10pm last Wednesday (8 November) when disaster struck.

They were hit by a speeding car at the junction of Marshfoot Road and Old Dock Approach Road. The vehicle, believed to be a dark-coloured BMW, didn’t stop and fled the scene along Old Dock Approach towards the B149 Wood View.

Driver Flees After Overtaking Another Car

Witnesses say the BMW overtook a smaller car — thought to be a Ford Fiesta — as it sped away. Police want to track down the driver of that smaller car as a key witness.

Police Urgently Seek Witnesses

“Two people have sustained really serious injuries as a result of this collision and it’s really important we’re able to find the driver involved,” said Detective Sergeant Steve Holmes.

“I know these images are not the clearest, but I hope releasing them will trigger someone’s memory.

“I believe the impact of the collision will have left the car involved with damage to it and this would be visible.

“Has a neighbour returned home with damage to their car that wasn’t there before? Have they parked their car differently to how they usually do?”

Police urge anyone with information to come forward immediately as they hunt the hit-and-run culprit.
