Paedo Anthony Stocks Jailed for Life After Attempt to Kill Boy Who Exposed Him
Oxford Man Sentenced to Life
Anthony Stocks, 54, from Goring-on-Thames, Oxfordshire, has been sentenced to life imprisonment, with a minimum of 19 and a half years behind bars. The vile predator was found guilty of multiple sexual assaults and the attempted murder of a young boy.
Twisted Plot to Silence Victim
Back in 2019, Stocks began a horrific spree of sexual offences against a young girl. When she bravely told a boy about the abuse, Stocks hatched a chilling plan to keep his crimes secret. On September 24, 2022, after a day out including a trip to Chelsea Football Club, Stocks drove the boy to the cliffs at Ovingdean, near Brighton.
Without warning, he pushed the child off a 30-metre (100ft) cliff in a calculated bid to permanently silence him and cover up his dark deeds.
Astonishingly, the boy survived the deadly fall but still suffers serious injuries.
Investigation Reveals Shocking Abuse
Initially thought to be an accident, the fall was exposed as a brutal attack thanks to a detailed probe by Thames Valley and Sussex Police. The inquiry also uncovered the full extent of Stocks’ horrific sexual abuse.
Detective Sergeant Rachel Jackson from Thames Valley Police praised the victims’ incredible bravery. “Their courage in facing their abuser and helping bring him to justice cannot be overstated,” she said.
No Remorse from Monster
Stocks was also found guilty of four counts of sexual assault of a child under 13, rape, and causing or inciting a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity. Throughout the investigation, he showed zero remorse.
This case is described by officers as one of the worst they have ever seen. It exposes the devastating impact of sexual violence and the sinister lengths some will go to escape justice.
Despite the community’s relief at Stocks’ conviction, the raw scars left by his cruel acts will take years to heal. Police vow to keep supporting survivors and cracking down on offenders with ruthless determination.
