West Ham Star Michail Antonio Hospitalised After Ferrari Crashes Into Tree

West Ham United striker Michail Antonio was rushed to hospital after his Ferrari smashed into a tree on Coppice Row, Theydon Bois, Essex, earlier today. The crash happened near the home of West Ham chairman David Sullivan.

Crash Drama in Essex

The smash, reported just after 1pm, involved no other vehicles. Firefighters from Epping and Loughton had to cut Antonio free from the wreckage before he was airlifted to a central London hospital by ambulance and air ambulance crews.

West Ham confirmed Antonio is stable, conscious, and communicating but remains under close medical supervision.

The Essex road between Piercing Hill and the Wake Arms roundabout was shut for hours while emergency services worked at the scene. It has now reopened.

“West Ham United can confirm that Michail Antonio is in a stable condition following a road traffic accident this afternoon in Essex. Michail is conscious and communicating and is currently under close supervision at a central London hospital. At this difficult time, we kindly ask everyone to respect the privacy of Michail and his family. The club will make no further comment this evening but will issue a further update in due course.”

Police Investigate & Appeal for Witnesses

Essex Police are probing the single-vehicle collision and have urged anyone with dashcam or CCTV footage to come forward.

“We were called just after 12:50pm to Coppice Row following reports of a Ferrari crash. Emergency services attended, the driver was taken to hospital. The vehicle has been recovered and the scene cleared. Our Roads Policing Unit will continue the investigation.”
