A quick-thinking police chase in Erdington ended with a man behind bars following a dramatic pursuit involving a stolen and cloned car. Officers from the Road Crime Team swooped in after spotting the dodgy vehicle linked to a recent burglary.
Police Nail Suspect Using Stinger Tyres
The stolen car was caught rolling through Erdington when cops launched a pre-emptive stinger, puncturing its tyres and forcing it to a halt. But the suspect wasn’t giving up that easily — he bolted on foot.
Chasing officers quickly tackled him to the ground. On arrest, the man was found carrying a knife, and police linked him to a string of burglaries and other crimes.
“Thanks to the quick thinking and actions of the Road Crime Team, a dangerous suspect was apprehended safely. A weapon was recovered, and a number of burglary offences have now been attributed to him,” a police spokesperson confirmed.
The suspect now faces multiple charges including burglary, vehicle offences, and possession of a bladed article.
