Young woman dies after shocking daylight throat-slitting in shopping centre car park
A young woman, believed to be in her 20s, was tragically murdered in broad daylight in a busy shopping centre car park. The horrifying attack unfolded around 11am on Thursday at the Dockside Outlet Centre in Chatham, sparking panic among shoppers.
Shoppers horrified by bloody attack
Witnesses described hearing loud shouting and chaos before spotting a man covered in blood being held down by police. One bystander told Facebook: “Just pulling into Dockside, 10 police cars race past with flashing lights. As I locked my door, I heard shouting and commotion. Opposite me, a man soaked in blood was being restrained by officers.”
Another chilling account revealed the victim’s throat was slit while she sat inside her car.
Suspect arrested at scene
A 25-year-old man from the local area was arrested immediately on suspicion of murder. Police said the victim and suspect are believed to know each other. Witnesses reported the suspect did not resist arrest.
Police investigation ongoing
Kent Police confirmed the victim died at the scene from wounds “consistent with a stabbing/" title="Stabbing" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">stabbing.” Officers remain at Dockside Outlet Centre carrying out enquiries. Parts of the car park have reopened, with the rest expected to be cleared by this evening.
