Woman Found Dead in Blyth Home – Police Launch Investigation

Tragedy struck on Thursday night in Blyth, Northumberland, after a woman was found dead at a property on Second Avenue. Emergency services rushed to the scene at around 8.50pm following a welfare concern call reported by paramedics.

Despite desperate efforts by first responders, the woman, believed to be in her 50s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Man Arrested Over Drug Supply Linked to Death

A man in his 40s has been arrested on suspicion of being involved in the supply of controlled drugs. Northumbria Police confirmed the woman’s death is currently being treated as “unexplained” as they launch a full investigation.

“Shortly before 8.50pm on Thursday, May 1, we received a report from the ambulance service of concern for the welfare of a woman at an address on Second Avenue, in Blyth,” a police spokesperson said.

“Emergency services attended but sadly the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.”

“An investigation has been launched to establish the full circumstances surrounding the woman’s death, which is currently being treated as unexplained. A man in his 40s remains in police custody.”

Inquiry Underway – Public Asked to Help

Police confirmed that inquiries are ongoing and a post-mortem will be carried out to determine the exact cause of death. They are urging anyone with information to come forward.
