KFC Faces Nationwide Chicken Shortage Crisis
KFC is in the deep fryer after a delivery disaster left hundreds of stores across the UK running dry. Fans desperate for their fried chicken fix are being sent home hungry as a major logistics fail forces dozens of branches to shut their doors.
Chicken Crisis Hits Two-Thirds of KFC UK Stores
The chaos began after DHL took over the delivery contract from Bidvest Logistics. The new system hit a chicken delivery snag, leaving around 600 of KFC’s 900 UK outlets either completely closed or running on a limited menu.
Signs blaming the shortage on a “hiccup” have popped up at hundreds of affected stores while customers face disappointment nationwide. KFC admitted the problem is no small fry, saying: “Getting fresh chicken out to 900 sites across the country is pretty complex!”
KFC Scrambles to Fix Supply Snarl-Up
DHL confirmed deliveries have been delayed or incomplete and said it’s working “around the cluck” with KFC and partners to fix the issue ASAP. A DHL spokesperson told us: “We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
KFC urged customers to check its website for updates on open locations, adding: “We won’t compromise on quality, so some restaurants are closed or on limited menu and shortened hours.”
When Will Chicken Be Back on the Menu?
Unfortunately, no firm date has been given for a full return to normal service. The fast-food giant said its teams are “working as fast as possible” to restock every branch. Meanwhile, craving fried chicken is proving a tough pill to swallow for fans across the UK.
