A man from Birmingham has been charged after a multi-force police probe uncovered alleged physical assaults on children during private circumcision procedures.
Hampshire Police Lead Wide-Ranging Investigation
Hampshire Constabulary teamed up with Thames Valley Police in a joint operation targeting assaults on boys in Hampshire, West Midlands, West Mercia, Thames Valley, London, Dorset, and Wiltshire. The probe focuses on alleged criminal acts connected to circumcision procedures carried out between 2015 and 2018 in private homes.
Mohammad Siddiqui Faces 34 Charges
Mohammad Siddiqui, 54, from Birmingham’s Hockley area, has been hit with 34 offences. Authorities stress the investigation targets his personal conduct, not the practice of circumcision itself. Siddiqui has been charged with:
- Assault occasioning Actual Bodily Harm
