Four Women Targeted in Series of Shocking Attacks in Didcot

Between 7pm and 8.15pm last Tuesday (10/11), four separate women were targeted in a string of unsettling assaults along popular running routes in Didcot.

Multiple Incidents on Wantage Road and Broadway

  • The first incident happened at 7pm on Wantage Road near the UTC traffic lights, where a woman was inappropriately touched over her clothing.
  • At around 8pm, two more women suffered similar attacks on Broadway, right opposite the fire station.
  • The final assault was reported at 8.15pm back on Wantage Road, near Didcot Hospital.

Distinctive Suspect Description

The suspect has been described as a black male, mid-20s to early 30s, around 6ft tall, with a medium or athletic build. He was wearing black clothes, a dark beanie-style hat, a surgical face mask, and possibly a scarf. One victim noted his deep voice and a possible French accent, plus a gold earring.

Police Appeal for Witnesses and Evidence

PC Alyssa Weymouth from Didcot police station said: “This appears to be a series of linked assaults on women who were out running, and we have a very detailed description of a suspect.

“The descriptions from each victim are very similar. We urge anyone in the Didcot area between 7pm and 8.30pm on Tuesday who saw anything to come forward.”

“We are especially keen to hear from anyone with dash-cam or CCTV footage that could aid our investigation.”
