Drug Dealer Caught Red-Handed Trying to Swallow Evidence in Folkestone Sting
On Thursday 26 May 2022, Kent Police smashed a drug deal in The Leas, Folkestone, catching David Fisher, 44, red-handed. The man, with no fixed address, tried to swallow drugs as officers moved in. He turned aggressive and threatened the police during his arrest.
Knife and Mobile Phones Seized
Fisher was searched on the spot. Officers found two mobile phones and a knife. One phone revealed text orders from buyers. The wraps Fisher tried to swallow tested positive for crack cocaine and heroin.
Jailed for Four and a Half Years
Fisher pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply drugs and possession of a knife. On Wednesday 28 September 2022, Canterbury Crown Court sentenced him to four years and six months behind bars.
“The misuse of drugs can have such a detrimental impact on people’s lives and I hope this sends a very clear message to criminals that we will find you and ensure you are arrested,” said DCI Matthew Talboys of the County Lines and Gangs Team.
Crackdown on County Lines Continues
Fisher’s sentence was part of a massive crackdown by Kent’s County Lines and Gangs Team, who secured 24-and-a-half years of prison time during September alone. Last month, the team:
- Made 25 arrests
- Executed 19 warrants
- Secured 45 charges
- Seized over £5,000 in suspected criminal cash
- Confiscated nine weapons
- Seized 15 drug consignments
“We have officers across the county making it tough for criminals to sell drugs here,” DCI Talboys added. “We won’t let up on our determination to keep people safe and keep drugs off the streets.”
