A woman in her 60s was found dead at her home on Mansel Road East, Millbrook, Hampshire. Police have launched a murder investigation after the grim discovery was made yesterday.
Two Arrested and Held in Custody
- A 48-year-old man and a 38-year-old woman from southampton/" title="Southampton" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Southampton have been arrested on suspicion of murder.
- Both suspects remain in police custody as inquiries continue.
- The victim’s next of kin have been informed.
Police Lead the Investigation
We are in the early stages of our investigation,” said Detective Chief Inspector Nicola Burton. “Officers are conducting extensive inquiries across the west of the city to piece together exactly what happened.”
“We believe this was an isolated incident with no wider threat to the community,” she added.

Superintendent Phil Lamb, Southampton district commander, acknowledged community worries, especially following last week’s attempted murder in the city centre. “We have deployed extra officers from across the force to support patrols and engage with local communities to ensure everyone’s safety,” he said.
