Road Rage Horror: Cyclist Dragged Along Road in Haringey
A cyclist had a terrifying brush with road rage on Tuesday evening, 8 November, in Haringey. At around 6.15pm, near Hornsey Gate on Endymion Road, the man was overtaking stationary traffic at a red light when all hell broke loose.
Driver Rams Bike and Drags Cyclist Down the Road
As the light turned green, the cyclist passed a blue car and pulled in ahead. Suddenly, the driver started beeping aggressively and revving the engine. Without warning, the motorist rammed the cyclist’s back wheel twice, forcing him into oncoming traffic. The impact caused the cyclist’s rear tyre to come off.
Despite this, the cyclist kept his balance—until the driver reached out and grabbed the hood of his coat through the car window. The thug then drove off while dragging the cyclist along the road, pulling him down before he finally fell from his bike. The driver sped away, leaving the victim shaken but luckily with only minor injuries.
Police Hunt ‘Older’ Bearded Driver
The suspect is described as an older black man with a beard and grey hair, driving a blue car. Detectives from North Area CID are appealing for witnesses.
Detective Sergeant Nick Davies said: “This was a shocking road rage incident where the cyclist was dragged along at speed before falling off. Thankfully, quick reactions from other motorists prevented more serious injuries. We urge anyone who was nearby, especially with dash cam footage, to come forward.”
