Police Dive Teams, Fire Service Drones, Search Dogs, Helicopters, And Mountain Rescue Volunteers Have Been Deployed To The Lancashire Village Of St Michael's On Wyre To Find 45-year-old Nicola Bulley, Who Was Last Seen Walking Her Dog On A Footpath By The River Wyre Two Days Ago

A large search is underway to locate a 45-year-old woman from Inskip, Lancashire, who went missing while walking her dog.

Nicola Bulley was last seen around 9.15 a.m. on a footpath by the River Wyre off Garstang Road in the village of St Michael’s on Wyre two days ago.

The search has been joined by Lancashire Police, Lancashire Fire and Rescue, the Bowland Pennine Mountain Rescue team, and the North West Underwater Search Team.

Police dive teams, fire department drones, search dogs, helicopters, and volunteer mountain rescuers have all been dispatched to the area.

Ms Bulley’s dog, a brown Spaniel, was found close to where she was last seen, and police hope this will jog the memory of anyone who saw her around the same time and may have information about her whereabouts.

She is described as white, 5ft 3ins tall, with shoulder-length light brown hair and an Essex accent.

Ms Bulley was last seen wearing a hooded long black gilet, black jeans, and olive green ankle wellies. Her hair was pulled back into a ponytail.

She has connections to Thornton Cleveleys as well as Inskip and St Michael’s on Wyre.

Police say they are “extremely concerned” about her whereabouts and have asked anyone with information to contact them.

The force stated that it is keeping an open mind about her whereabouts, and detectives investigating the circumstances surrounding her disappearance are following a number of leads.

Chris Barton, Chief Inspector, stated: “Nicola has been missing for two days, and we are very worried about her.

“First and foremost, if anyone saw her on Friday morning and has not yet been contacted by police, or if anyone has any other information about her whereabouts, please contact us immediately.

We have a team of detectives working tirelessly to establish the circumstances surrounding her disappearance, in addition to a large team of police officers, partner agencies, and volunteer groups on the ground searching the area around where she was last seen.”

He also stated that officers are aware that a large number of members of the local community have organised a search of the area and urged them to remain safe.

The River Wyre and its banks are extremely dangerous, according to the force, and searching these areas poses a genuine risk to the public.
