Officers searching for missing Keano Byrne have found a body in Stockport
Keano from Gorton, was reported missing on Monday 27 March 2023 when GMP launched an immediate investigation. He was last seen in the early hours of Sunday 26 March 2023 leaving Northumberland Road in Brinnington and walking towards Reddish Vale with another man.

PC Rodgers and a colleague received a report of young children trespassing on the railway line at Brinnington near Stockport. Whilst they were searching the line, P.C. Rodgers was struck by a train. He received multiple injuries, from which he later died. He was 26.

Nicholas Parkinson of Leigh in Wigan, was sentenced at Bolton Crown Court, after being found guilty of eight counts of indecent assault and two counts of indecency with a child. The court heard how Parkinson had preyed on the youngsters, who were all aged under 10 at the time.

Three people have been arrested, and four dogs have been taken into custody. The attack happened just before 2.40pm at a Carrington address and is thought to have involved up to four dogs.
