Bury Drug Kingpin Behind Bars for Nearly 12 Years

Daniel Degisi of Dukes Rise, Bury, has been locked up for 11 years and eight months after being found guilty of conspiracy to supply Class A drugs. His gang dealt wholesale cocaine across the North West, including Manchester, through a network of street dealers.

Gang Members Caught: Sentences Handed Out

  • Zach Hall of Newfield View, Milnrow – jailed for nine years and four months.
  • Michelle Richardson of Sunfield Way, Oldham – sentenced to five years and four months.
  • Jaymie Dawson of Linney Lane, Shaw – received four years and six months.
  • Richard Cranston of Kingsway, Gerrards Cross – jailed for six years.
  • Hamza Iftikar of Randale Drive, Bury – given four years and nine months for conspiracy and possession with intent to supply Class B drugs.

How The Drug Operation Worked

Degisi tried to distance himself from the day-to-day running, but police tracked his every move and linked him directly to the conspiracy. Each gang member had a specific role: Hall supplied dealers down the chain, Iftikar and Cranston sold the drugs, while Dawson and Richardson hid stock at their homes.

Investigators uncovered shocking messages on Dawson’s phones, including bulk texts to customers boasting: “New gear in for xmas! Absolute stocked the **** up so all hours” and “beltin deals still on aswell.”

Police raids in 2021 revealed the gang were cutting their Class A cocaine with unknown fillers to boost profits, found alongside scales and mixing bowls.

Police Statement: Tough Blow to Manchester’s Drug Trade

“The severity of these offences should not be underestimated, and the quantities of drugs we’re talking about are beyond substantial,” said Detective Sergeant Matthew Whittaker from GMP Serious Organised Crime Group.

“Removing these individuals will make a real difference on Greater Manchester’s streets. Drugs tear communities apart and fuel serious crime. This sentencing is another win against organised crime and a step toward safer neighbourhoods.”

“We rely on information from the public to crack down on gangs. Anyone with suspicions about drug supply in their area should come forward. We will act on it.”
