Tragic Death of Young Man in New Malden Park

Police were called at 6.59pm on Monday, 8 February, after a male was found unresponsive in Green Lane Recreation Ground, New Malden, near the railway lines. Despite desperate efforts from passersby and the London Ambulance Service, Alfie was sadly pronounced dead shortly after.

Death Treated as Unexplained, Not Suspicious

Alfie’s next of kin have been informed. The Metropolitan Police are treating the death as unexplained but not suspicious. A post mortem is being arranged to determine the cause of death.

Police Urge Witnesses to Come Forward

The Met’s South West Local Investigations team is leading the inquiry and continuing their enquiries.

Officers are appealing to anyone who was at or near Green Lane Recreation Ground on the evening of 8th February, or anyone who spoke to Alfie in the days before his death, to get in touch.
