Massive Fire Sparks Midnight Emergency
Just before 12.30 a.m. on Saturday, thick plumes of smoke billowed from the former S2 Snooker Club on Kingston Road, Portsmouth. Firefighters rushed to the scene after urgent calls reporting the massive blaze.
Over 50 Firefighters Battle the Flames
- More than fifty firefighters scrambled to tackle the inferno.
- Over ten fire engines from Hampshire crews arrived, alongside specialist gear including an ALP from Southsea.

Emergency Services Close Roads and Support Efforts
To keep firefighters safe, police shut down Kingston Road between Powerscourt Road and Kingston Crescent. South Central Ambulance Service paramedics and incident support vehicles were also on site, ready for any emergencies.
Firefighters Still on Scene, Cause Under Investigation
The fire crews remained at the scene for hours, working hard to douse hotspots and stop the flames from flaring up again. Authorities say the fire’s cause is still unknown and will be thoroughly investigated.
