Police in Stockport are appealing for information after an attempted abduction in Hazel Grove
At 5pm on Monday 20 March, a 14-year-old boy was approached by a man in an orange and black Mini who was parked in a layby on Jacksons Lane, Hazel Grove. The driver asked the boy to get into his car before driving slowly behind him along Jackson’s Lane.

The victim John Lowe, was attacked in broad daylight, leaving him severely injured and in a vegetative state. The incident took place on Valentine’s Day at 10.00am in Salford’s Clarendon Park, and the police are treating it as attempted murder.
Police will prioritise freedom of speech under new hate incident guidance
The guidance means personal data will only be recorded for incidents motivated by intentional hostility and where there is a real risk of significant harm. New statutory guidance on the recording of so-called non-crime hate incidents will ensure police prioritise freedom of expression, the Home Secretary has announced.

Officers from GMP Altrincham were responding to a welfare call for an elderly gentleman who had fallen and injured himself – unknown miscreants decided to damage this police vehicle, rendering it unusable until it was repaired. This is simply unacceptable.
A Greater Manchester Police officer has been charged with rape
On Tuesday PC James Stonehouse was arrested on suspicion of rape and was taken into custody for questioning. The officer who was posted to GMP’s Oldham district, has today been charged with one count of rape and continues to be suspended from duty.
