Cop Arrested on Rape Charges Sacked and Suspended
PC James Stonehouse Taken In
On Tuesday, PC James Stonehouse was arrested on suspicion of rape. The Greater Manchester Police officer, posted in Oldham, was immediately taken into custody for questioning.
Charged and Suspended
Today, Stonehouse was formally charged with one count of rape. He remains suspended from duty pending the outcome of the case.
Next Stop: Magistrates Court
The officer is due to appear at Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court this Friday. The investigation is ongoing.
