High-Speed Car Chase Ends Gang’s Crime Spree in Manchester
Gang Busted After 100mph Chase Through Gatley
On March 3, 2022, Manchester police’s Tactical Vehicle Intercept Unit (TVIU) brought a four-man gang’s criminal rampage to a grinding halt. The suspects, caught driving a stolen car, led officers on a dangerous pursuit exceeding 100mph through Gatley. The chase ended when Greater Manchester Police (GMP) dog handlers helped sniff out the gang, with one crook even found hiding under a sofa.

Thieves Targeted Luxury Cars and Homes Across Manchester
Detectives from GMP’s Serious Organised Crime Group unveiled the gang’s shocking crime spree, linking them to 13 burglaries and the theft of high-end vehicles including Audis and Porsches. These were stolen from car parks, town centres, and private driveways across the city. The stolen luxury cars were often then used to aid further burglaries, spreading fear among local residents.
Police Send Strong Message to Criminal Gangs
Detective Constable Chris Bromley said: “This group were prolific thieves committing intrusive crimes, breaking into homes, and stealing cars from drives – leaving victims stranded and vulnerable.
“They showed reckless disregard for public safety with dangerous driving. But no matter how organised a gang thinks they are, we’re committed to using all resources to put these criminals behind bars.”
Police urge anyone with information on burglars or stolen goods handlers to come forward via the LiveChat on the GMP website or by calling 101.
