Salmonella Risk Explained

According to the Food Standards Agency (FSA), salmonella can make both humans and animals sick. The risk comes from handling contaminated products, pet bowls, utensils, or contact with infected animal faeces.

“Salmonella symptoms in humans usually include fever, diarrhoea and stomach cramps. Pets may not show signs but can have diarrhoea,” says the FSA.
