Wife Airlifted After Crash
Carey’s wife, Billi, who was passenger in the classic car, was seriously injured and airlifted to hospital. Sadly, Ron was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police Confirm Details and Investigation
A Surrey Police spokesperson said:
“We can confirm that a man has sadly died following a collision on the southbound carriageway of the M23 near J7 Hooley on Sunday. The collision, involving a vintage car and a heavy goods vehicle, occurred around 10am. The 80-year-old male driver was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after the collision, and his female passenger has been taken to hospital with serious injuries. Next of kin have been informed.”
