Milton Keynes Man Nabbed with Class A Drugs After Taxi Escape
Kareem Barker, 27, from Shenley Church End, Milton Keynes, was sentenced at Luton Crown Court after pleading guilty to possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.
Chased Down After Dodging Police
On 28 October, officers on patrol in Luton spotted Barker jump out of a taxi and sprint down Dunstable Road. As he ran, he threw away items that turned out to be a broken mobile phone and a bag filled with Class A drugs. He was later found hiding behind a bin and promptly arrested.
Drug Squad Clamping Down on Dealers
The dedicated guns and gangs unit, Boson, regularly patrols hotspots for drug dealing with high visibility tactics. Just recently, they seized £45,000 worth of Class A and B drugs and arrested another suspect during a similar operation.
Detective Constable Colin Knight said: “We will continue to pursue those offenders looking to make a profit by peddling drugs in our neighbourhoods. Drugs fuel serious violence, exploitation, and antisocial behaviour that ruin residents’ lives. Hopefully, this sentence will warn all dealers that we are relentless in disrupting their illegal activities and bringing them to justice.”
Harsh Sentence for Barker
Barker was handed 46 months for possession with intent to supply cocaine, and another 46 months for possession with intent to supply heroin. The sentences will run concurrently.
