Jail for Lovers’ Triangle Attempted Murder Plot
- On 22 December, 23-year-old Shannon Rule from Chingford was found guilty of attempted murder at Kingston Crown Court.
- Daniel Gaudin, 23, of Waltham Cross, had already pleaded guilty earlier.
- Rule was handed 30 years behind bars; Gaudin got 27 years plus a 2-year extended licence.
Twisted Love Triangle Sparks Violent Plot
The court heard Rule had been involved with both men, who did not know each other. Jealous Gaudin sent threatening texts after learning about the victim. He then roped in Rule to lure the victim to a meeting near Morden.
The victim, unaware of the full plan, arrived expecting to talk with Rule alone. Instead, Gaudin appeared and shot him multiple times in front of dozens of horrified witnesses.
Fast Arrest Thanks to Police and CCTV
Police were called at 2:03pm on 22 June 2021 to Central Road near Abbotsbury Road. The victim was rushed to hospital with life-changing injuries that still require ongoing treatment.
The suspects tried to flee but ran straight into the path of armed officers and were arrested on the spot.
Rule denied knowledge of Gaudin’s gun, but her lies fell apart when messages were found warning the victim about the firearm. Cameras, witnesses and forensic evidence sealed their fate.
Detective Inspector Iain Wallace said: “The sentences show how seriously the Judge took this brutal, senseless attack driven by jealousy. The young man’s life was changed forever. I hope today’s verdict brings some comfort to him and his family. There is no place for this violence, and the Met will do everything to bring offenders to justice.”
