Tragedy struck near the Merry Hill Centre in Brierley Hill just after 1pm today. A man died after his car crashed, believed to have suffered a medical episode behind the wheel.

West Midlands Ambulance Service raced to the scene within six minutes of the call. They dispatched two ambulances, a paramedic officer, and the West Midlands CARE team for urgent help.

Off-Duty Responder Provides Critical Help

An off-duty Community First Responder was already tending to the driver when ambulance crews arrived.

Advanced Life Support Efforts Fail

The ambulance team administered advanced life support immediately. Despite their best efforts, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “Unfortunately, despite their best efforts, nothing more could be done to save him.”
