Detectives have launched an urgent appeal for witnesses and information following a shooting incident at a bar in Enfield, which left a man critically injured.
The incident occurred at approximately 1.40am on Tuesday, 13 February, at the Cora Lounge situated on Alma Road, EN3.
Police responded to reports of the shooting, but the victim was not identified until 02:25hrs that morning, when emergency services were summoned to assist the injured man at a location in Haringey. The victim, believed to be in his 30s, was subsequently transported to the hospital, where he remains in critical condition. His family has been notified of the incident.
An intensive investigation is currently underway, and detectives are urging anyone with relevant information about the shooting to come forward.
Detective Inspector David Hickford, leading the investigation team, expressed grave concern over the incident, stating, “This shooting has left a man seriously injured, and we have carried out extensive enquiries since the attack to establish what happened.
Hickford emphasized the importance of witness cooperation, highlighting that many individuals present at the bar during the time of the incident have yet to provide statements. He urged potential witnesses to step forward, regardless of whether they believe they observed anything significant, as their information could be crucial to the investigation.
Gun crime has no place on the streets of London,” Hickford asserted, acknowledging the rarity of such incidents in the capital. “We are doing all we can to track down whoever is responsible,” he added.
Any individuals with relevant information are urged to contact the police immediately by dialing 101 and quoting CAD 4684/16Feb. Alternatively, information can be shared anonymously with the independent charity Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111.
