Armed Robbery Incident in Walthamstow Leads to Two Arrests

Police were alerted to a distressing incident in Walthamstow on Monday, 18th March, at 5.51pm on Monday 18th March 2024 when a man reported being robbed at gunpoint by two individuals in Green Pond Close.

Upon receiving the report, armed officers swiftly responded to the scene and conducted a thorough search of the area. Their prompt intervention led to the apprehension of two suspects in close proximity to the location of the robbery.

The two men were arrested on suspicion of robbery and possession of a firearm. They were promptly taken into custody for further questioning as part of ongoing investigations into the incident.

While the immediate threat has been neutralized with the apprehension of the suspects, enquiries are continuing to gather more information and evidence related to the robbery.

A Spokesman for the Met Police said: Officers were called at 16:51hrs on Monday, 18 March to reports that a man had been robbed by two men who threatened him with a gun in Green Pond Close, Walthamstow. 

Armed officers responded and carried out a search of the area. 

Two men were arrested nearby on suspicion of robbery and possession of a firearm. They were taken into custody and enquiries are ongoing.
