HMRC Building Evacuated in Leeds City Centre Due to Suspicious Package

Emergency services responded to reports of a potentially suspicious package delivered to a building in Wellington Place, Leeds, at 8:13 am today. As a precautionary measure, the building, which houses Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC), was partially evacuated while authorities assessed the situation.

Police, firefighters, and ambulance services, including the Hazardous Area Response Team (HART), were deployed to the scene to conduct thorough checks and ensure the safety of all individuals in the vicinity. A DIM (Detection, Identification, and Monitoring) vehicle, designed for identifying unknown substances, was also present at the scene to assist in the investigation.

At present, police cordons remain in place around the affected area as emergency services continue their precautionary measures and investigations into the nature of the package.
