A London bus tour operator suffered damage to one of its buses after it collided with a leaning tree in Holborn on Monday morning.
At approximately 9 am on February 26, a Tootbus struck a low-hanging tree on Kingsway, resulting in structural damage to the front section of the roof. Parts of the roof collapsed inward as a consequence of the collision.
Photographs taken following the incident depict the bus pulled over with visible damage to its roof.
Gavin Brooking, Managing Director of Tootbus UK, addressed the incident, stating, “The accidental collision took place this morning. Fortunately, our driver emerged uninjured, and the bus was unoccupied at the time.”
Brooking assured that an internal investigation has been initiated to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the collision. He emphasized the company’s commitment to maintaining safety standards and affirmed that appropriate measures would be implemented to prevent similar incidents in the future. Additionally, the incident has been reported to the relevant authorities.
When contacted for comment, the Metropolitan Police declined to provide any further information regarding the incident.
The collision serves as a reminder of the importance of diligence and caution on the roads, particularly for operators of large vehicles navigating urban environments.
