A distressing incident unfolded in Tonbridge last night, culminating in the arrest of a male suspect for assaulting staff members of Southeastern Railway. The altercation took place at a Southeastern station, resulting in the suspect’s apprehension by Police.
According to reports from the British Transport Police (BTP) in Kent, the suspect not only assaulted railway staff but also callously threw their Body-Worn Video (BWV) equipment onto the tracks. The aggressive behaviour prompted swift action from BTP officers, who promptly intervened to detain the individual.
The suspect, whose identity has not been disclosed at this time, remains in custody pending further investigation. In addition to the assault on railway staff, authorities have revealed that the individual faces an additional allegation of assaulting his father at their residence.
