Chaos on the M6 last night as a driver sped the wrong way for over six kilometres, sparking panic and a major motorway closure.
30+ Emergency Calls Flood In
Staffordshire Police Road Crime Team revealed they received more than 30 frantic 999 calls reporting the wrong-way driver heading south from Junction 15 on the northbound carriageway.

“We immediately closed the motorway at J14 Northbound, ready to put ourselves in harm’s way to protect the public,” the police said.
“The vehicle travelled over 6km before eventually stopping in lane 4… inches from a head-on collision. Miraculously, nobody was injured, and no damage was caused.”
