Drugs and Phones Found Hidden in Baby’s Cot
A 23-year-old Stoke-on-Trent man has been locked up after police uncovered drugs and secret phones stashed right under a baby’s mattress. Liam Poole was caught red-handed during a raid on a Longton home last November.
Officers found two phones hidden in the baby’s cot and another phone tucked away among Christmas presents. Bags of white powder—suspected crack cocaine and heroin—were discovered on a kitchen cupboard, alongside more than £10,000 in cash.
Longton Drug Dealer Jailed for Over Four Years
On Friday, 13 March, Poole was sentenced to four years and one month at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court. He pleaded guilty to supplying crack cocaine, heroin, and monkey dust.
Police analysis of Poole’s phones revealed 270 drug-related messages sent in just five days to around 70 contacts linked to the so-called “Jack line” drug network.
Although Poole initially refused to comment during questioning, he later admitted his guilt in court.
Police Hail Victory Against Drug Supply
“Poole clearly tried to evade detection by hiding phones, drugs and cash in the property,” said PC Alkins from the city’s proactive team. “Thankfully, we removed them and detained him. We’ll keep cracking down on drugs supply across Staffordshire.”
