One person has been taken to hospital following a serious crash on the M25 this morning (April 9) that brought traffic to a standstill and caused hours of delays for motorists.
An East of England Ambulance Service spokesperson confirmed:
“We were called just after 8.10am with reports of a road traffic collision on the M25 clockwise between junctions 25 and 26. Two ambulances were sent to the scene. One patient was transported to North Middlesex University Hospital.
The person’s injuries have not been confirmed, but they were taken to hospital for further treatment. No other casualties have been reported.
Essex Police also issued a statement:
“We were notified of a collision on the M25 between junction 25-26 (clockwise) shortly after 8.05am on Wednesday April 9. Police are in attendance.
The motorway has since reopened, but long delays remain in the area as traffic continues to clear. Drivers are being urged to check travel updates and allow extra time for their journeys.
The circumstances leading up to the crash are still under investigation. Police have not yet confirmed whether any other vehicles were involved or if any arrests have been made in connection with the incident.
