Essex Police have swooped after 81 air weapons were snatched from a parked lorry in Basildon. The brazen theft unfolded overnight between Thursday, 19 and Friday, 20 February, targeting a lorry on Paycocke Road.
Basildon CID launched an immediate investigation, hunting down the culprits behind the sizeable arsenal haul.
Early Morning Raids Land Three Suspects
Officers hit back with simultaneous raids in Aveley just days later. Three local men in their 30s were arrested on suspicion of theft and remain in custody for questioning.
Police recovered 12 air weapons during the searches and are checking if they’re part of the missing stash.
Manhunt Continues – Police Call for Witnesses
The investigation is still ongoing, with officers hunting for the rest of the stolen air weapons. Authorities urge anyone with info, or anyone offered similar weapons, to come forward immediately.
