Serious Crash on M25 Brings Chaos and Long Delays

One person rushed to hospital after a shocking crash on the M25 this morning (April 9). Traffic ground to a halt, causing hours of gridlock for frustrated drivers.

Overturned Car Blocks Key Stretch

The smash happened at 8:05am on the clockwise carriageway between Junction 25 (Waltham Cross) and Junction 26 (Waltham Abbey). Emergency crews, including police, paramedics, and an air ambulance, scrambled to the scene after reports of the overturned vehicle.

The flipped car completely blocked the carriageway, forcing closure of the busy motorway stretch for several hours. Traffic was diverted, creating severe tailbacks in the surrounding area.

One Patient Taken to North Middlesex Hospital

“We were called just after 8.10am with reports of a road traffic collision on the M25 clockwise between junctions 25 and 26. Two ambulances were sent to the scene. One patient was transported to North Middlesex University Hospital,” confirmed an East of England Ambulance Service spokesperson.

Injuries to the injured party remain unconfirmed. No other casualties have been reported.

Motorway Reopened but Delays Continue

“We were notified of a collision on the M25 between junction 25-26 (clockwise) shortly after 8.05am on Wednesday April 9. Police are in attendance,” said Essex Police in a statement.

The motorway has now reopened, but long delays persist as the traffic backlog clears. Motorists are urged to check travel updates and allow extra time for journeys.

Investigation Underway

The cause of the crash is still under investigation. Police have yet to confirm if other vehicles were involved or if any arrests have been made.
