Riverdance Announces UK Tour to Celebrate 30th Anniversary

Riverdance, the iconic Irish dance troupe, is set to embark on a UK tour in celebration of its 30th anniversary. The group, renowned for its mesmerizing blend of traditional Irish dancing and contemporary music, will be performing at 30 venues across the UK in 2025 to mark this significant milestone.

The journey of Riverdance began in 1994 when it captured the hearts of millions during the interval of the Eurovision Song Contest in Dublin. American dancers Michael Flatley and Jean Butler dazzled audiences with their captivating performance at The Point Theatre, propelling Riverdance to international fame.

As Riverdance commemorates three decades of artistic excellence, it welcomes a new generation of performers who will carry on its legacy. John McColgan, director of Riverdance, expressed his gratitude for the remarkable journey the show has undertaken and emphasized its evolution into a global cultural phenomenon while staying true to its Irish heritage.

The UK tour will commence on August 12, 2025, at Swansea Arena, where the troupe will perform for three consecutive nights. From there, they will travel to various cities including Manchester, Liverpool, and Edinburgh, before concluding the tour with a series of performances at London’s prestigious Hammersmith Apollo from December 9 to 14.

Tickets for the tour will be available for purchase starting March 22 at 10am, offering audiences the opportunity to experience the magic of Riverdance live on stage.

Principal dancer and dance captain Fergus Fitzpatrick expressed his excitement for the upcoming tour and the creative talents involved in its production. He described being part of Riverdance as a dream come true and anticipated the audience’s enthusiastic response to the performances.

Padraic Moyles, chief executive and producer of Riverdance, described the anniversary as a testament to the dedication and passion of everyone involved in the show’s journey. He expressed pride in the impact Riverdance has had over the years.

Principal dancer and dance captain Amy Mae Dolan shared her gratitude for being part of Riverdance, calling it one of the greatest honors of her life. She expressed her anticipation for the continued growth and evolution of Riverdance in the years to come, confident that it will inspire future generations of dancers.

As Riverdance prepares to embark on its UK tour, audiences can look forward to an unforgettable celebration of music, dance, and the enduring spirit of this iconic show.
