Knife Threat at Raunds Asda Sparks Armed Police Response
A terrifying night at Raunds’ Asda on November 19, 2020, saw multiple 999 calls flood police control as shoppers and staff were held at knife-point by 22-year-old Mantas Auryla.
Calm Call Handlers and Rapid Armed Response
Despite the panic, police call handlers stayed calm and reassuring while dispatching specially trained armed officers to the scene. The store was swiftly evacuated to prevent further danger.
Officers stormed the empty shop, quick to locate and disarm Auryla, who was then arrested on the spot.
Auryla Jailed After Facing Serious Charges

This month, Auryla was handed an 18-month prison sentence. Thankfully, no one was hurt during the dramatic incident.
