In a harrowing incident this morning, three individuals narrowly escaped a blaze that engulfed part of a ground-floor flat in Erith. The fire, which occurred on March 28, caused damage to a semi-detached house on Empire Way.
Upon receiving the distress call at 7:38 am, fire crews swiftly mobilised to the scene. Fortunately, the two men and one woman inhabiting the affected flat managed to evacuate the premises before the firefighters‘ arrival.
Firefighters from Erith and Bexley fire stations worked diligently to bring the situation under control, successfully extinguishing the flames by 7:49 am.
While the immediate danger has been averted, authorities are now focused on determining the cause of the fire. Investigations by the fire teams are currently ongoing, with efforts directed towards uncovering the root cause of this morning’s alarming incident.
