Three people are fighting for their lives following a mass stabbing in Thamesmead, southeast London, in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Officers from the Metropolitan Police and paramedics from the London Ambulance Service (LAS) responded quickly, finding five victims with stab wounds.

Ambulance Statement Confirms Critical Injuries

A spokesperson for the London Ambulance Service said:

“We were called at 4.17am on Saturday 16 May to reports of a stabbing in Nathan Way, SE28.
We sent resources including ambulance crews, paramedics in response cars, an incident response officer, advanced paramedics and London’s air ambulance.
We treated three patients at the scene before taking them to hospital.”

It is now understood that three of the five victims are in a critical condition in hospital.

Police Appeal and Investigation

A cordon remains in place throughout Nathan Way, with forensic officers on scene. The Metropolitan Police have launched an urgent investigation.

“This was a serious assault involving multiple victims. We are doing everything we can to identify those responsible and support the victims.
We urge anyone with information or footage to come forward.”
