Customers of TSB Bank have faced frustration this morning as they encountered difficulties accessing the bank’s app and online services. Reports began flooding in from account holders across the UK, detailing issues with the TSB app and online banking functions.
According to Downdetector, a platform where users can report service outages, by 8 a.m. Thursday morning, over 350 reports had already been submitted regarding problems with TSB’s digital services. This comes just over 24 hours after Barclays, another high street bank, experienced its own technical glitches with its payment systems and banking app.
TSB’s digital service hiccups add to a string of recent technical troubles affecting various companies, including supermarket giants Sainsbury’s and Tesco, as well as fast-food chains McDonald’s and Greggs.
TSB Bank customers voiced their frustrations on Downdetector, with one user expressing dismay: “@TSB the online app is not working AGAIN.” Another individual lamented, “Definitely issues. Yet another payday and can’t access the app.”
Addressing the concerns raised by customers, TSB Bank issued a statement acknowledging the reported issues and assured customers that they are actively investigating the matter. The statement read, “We’re aware that some customers are experiencing issues with our digital services. We’re currently looking into this and will provide updates as soon as possible.”
Downdetector serves as a platform for users to report disruptions in popular services, including social media platforms like Twitter and Instagram, as well as internet service providers such as Virgin Media. It flags incidents when the number of problem reports surpasses the typical volume for that time of day.
TSB Bank customers are advised to stay tuned for updates from the bank as they work to resolve the issues affecting their digital services.
